Playground Press

During this ongoing participatory printing and zine making project children create their own zines. Each session has a slightly different focus, but all related to the concept of play and public space.

During the first session children were invited to reflect on the various functions and meanings of buildings in their lives while creating texts and images. Children explored different printing techniques like stamping and lino cutting in order to create a collaborative handcrafted publication. The works of the children were duplicated in order to share the works with others. Altogether the different pages of the zine represented a colorful, imaginary and idealistic city of the children of Utrecht. (Photo’s:  Merel Zwarts)
